Job Description
As an Area Production Manager, you'll be a dynamic technical and organizational leader steering one or more production units to excellence, while championing safety, driving innovation, and maximizing productivity through effective team leadership. This influential role empowers you to shape operational success through data-driven decision making, continuous improvement initiatives, and the development of high-performing teams, all while acting as a key liaison between various departments and inspiring others to achieve exceptional results.
Accountabilities
- Accountable for the technical, organizational, financial and managerial processes of one or more production lines/unit(s)
- Responsible for connection to supply chain and achieving required production targets for own unit(s)
- Oversee daily operations of the assigned production unit(s), ensuring targets for output, quality, safety and efficiency are met
- Ensure technical production problems are escalated, analysed and resolved efficiently in close collaboration with support services and the appropriate actions are defined and implemented
- Work closely with all departments on site acting as a liaison and facilitating the shift manager work
- Manage and develop shift managers and production teams to drive high performance and engagement
- Ensure that production staff have the right documentation and procedures available
- Track, measure and report the performance of the production unit (OEE, TEEP). Ensure data driven decision are taken with reliable KPI
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence within the production unit
- Champion safety protocols, conduct audits, and lead incident investigations
- Communicate as an inspirational leader to motivate teams, build trust, and effectively convey priorities and vision across all levels
- Engaged in people development, retaining of competencies and building of succession plans for production
Qualifications Required
- Ideally Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Engineering or other relevant technical discipline
- Several years managerial/leadership experience
- Experience in a technical or operations role
- Operational excellence knowledge
- Proficient digital skills
