Job Description
Join Syngenta’s UK Finance Operations team as a Financial Accountant and play a key role in delivering accurate, timely financial reporting and effective business partnering across our Corporate Functions.
You will report to the Head of Regional Compliance HQ Unitsand take ownership of payroll- and people-related accounting, insurance costs, balance sheet reconciliations and employee-cost reporting.
Responsibilities/accountabilities will also include
- Manage the payroll interface process and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts, liaising with HR as necessary.
- Balance sheet account reconciliations (both preparation of some reconciliations and review of reconciliations prepared by others).
- Lead the PSA (PAYE Settlement Agreement ) work peformed by overseas shared service centre.
- Responsible for reporting of employee costs data for both Group and local statutory reporting for costs and headcount.
- Oversee shared service centre management of the Concur expenses process, to include acting as the point of contact with Citi Card.
- Responsible for liaison and data gathering of insurance data leading to payment, budgeting and recharging to the various UK accounting units
- Finance Business Partner for the following Corporate functions: HR, Legal, Finance. Providing advice and support as required including month end close and budgets.
- Backup, support and cover for the Finance leads who are responsible for monthly management reporting.
- Support the Head of Compliance HQ Units with certain compliance activities.
- Other ad hoc finance duties and involvement in Finance transformation projects as required
- What We Are Looking For
- A recognised accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA).
- Experience in financial and management accounting, including month-end processes.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgement and an ability to identify critical issues.
- Confidence working independently, managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience in a matrix, multinational environment; SAP knowledge is desirable.
- A service-focused, collaborative mindset and experience managing remote service providers.

This is a hybrid role with two office days per week at our office unit in Guildford.
