We're seeking a skilled Shift Lead Technician to oversee our Fill and Pack operations, ensuring optimal line performance while maintaining safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with leadership abilities to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure line availability through hands-on operation and proactive maintenance
- Resolve minor breakdowns and stoppages on F&P lines
- Perform reactive first-line maintenance and expert fault diagnosis
- Coordinate with operations planning department
- Represent F&P at tiered meetings, plant handovers, and housekeeping tours
- Monitor and optimize processes to maximize OEE
- Lead improvement initiatives and coordinate maintenance activities
- Manage permit to work process and operator training
- Maintain 5S and Lean standards
- Investigate equipment failures and conduct root cause analysis
- Create and update technical documentation
Qualifications:
- Technical qualification or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing Fill and Pack operations
- Demonstrated maintenance and troubleshooting expertise
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Basic knowledge of chemistry and batch processes
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
- Previous F&P line validation or equivalent experience
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with safety protocols and quality standards

The site was founded in 1919 and today employs nearly 400 skilled people in a variety of roles that include manufacturing, engineering, scientific and production support. Our goal is to operate “safely, reliably and cost effectively” and to help growers protect their crops and increase their yield. At Syngenta Grangemouth we have four plants dedicated to active ingredient (AI) manufacture, and an existing finished product formulation and packaging plant, along with a new Seedcare plant currently under construction with a completion date in 2026.
