Role Overview

We are seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead a dynamic laboratory environment where quality, efficiency, and collaboration come first. In this role, you’ll drive operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance, and empower a high-performing team to deliver outstanding results. From optimising workflows and managing equipment to shaping processes and supporting client success, you’ll play a key role in advancing both scientific outcomes and business goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and optimise lab operations, ensuring GxP, SOP, and policy compliance.
  • Manage and validate lab equipment, coordinate service calls, and maintain the equipment database.
  • Conduct reagent stock management and support workflow and system improvements.
  • Supervise, train, and assess team performance against defined KPIs and goals.
  • Facilitate communication, conflict resolution, and team collaboration.
  • Oversee resource allocation and support lab space planning and design.
  • Collaborate with study teams to meet client expectations and revenue targets.
  • Write/review SOPs, manage CAPAs, and ensure continuous process improvement.
  • Report operational progress, updates, and performance to management.
  • Observe appropriate regulatory guidelines, SOPs, policies and study documentation.
  • Working in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) by authoring, reviewing, and maintaining SOPs, guidance documents, and policies, as well as providing training and support to staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of an Honours degree with 2 years’ experience, or 4–5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience working in a GxP and/or GCLP-accredited environment.
  • Ongoing awareness training in ISO, GCP, and GLP is required and must be kept up to date.
  • Continuous professional development through training, workshops, or seminars is encouraged.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
