Role Overview
Bring your technical expertise to a fast-paced laboratory where reliability and innovation go hand in hand. In this role, you’ll keep critical instrumentation running at peak performance, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and drive preventative maintenance to support seamless operations. You’ll collaborate closely with scientists and service partners, promote compliance and best practices, and play a key role in improving systems, processes, and team capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support to the Analytical Laboratory, ensuring efficient and reliable operation of instrumentation.
- Plan, coordinate, and carry out troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations and preventative maintenance in a timely manner to maximise instrument uptime to support operational and project delivery needs.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with service engineers, management, and scientific staff.
- Accurately document all maintenance activities in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Promote best practices and ensure adherence to relevant regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with staff on technical matters and equipment status.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of visiting service engineers.
- Maintain and manage appropriate spare parts inventory to support operational continuity.
- Adhere to and uphold regulatory guidelines, SOPs, policies, and study documentation requirements.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of SOPs, guidance documents, and policies, including authoring, reviewing, and updating documentation.
- Provide training and technical support to staff to ensure consistent adherence to procedures and standards.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Analytical Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience supporting analytical laboratory instrumentation.
- Experience with general laboratory instrument maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with analytical instruments (e.g., HPLC, LC-MS).
- Experience in a regulated laboratory environment and knowledge of quality standards are advantageous.
