About the role
We’re now looking for an experienced Financial Controller to oversee the financial operations of our group and help strengthen and evolve our Finance Team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), you’ll combine hands-on financial leadership with a commercial outlook, governance, process improvement, and team development. This is a pivotal role with strong visibility across the business, working closely with senior stakeholders to support sound decision-making and sustainable growth.
What you’ll be doing
- Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts and weekly project reporting.
- Manage revenue reconciliation to ensure revenue and costs are recognized accurately and on time.
- Lead quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and monthly profitability reporting, clearly identifying risks and opportunities.
- Own the budgeting and forecasting process, alongside KPI reporting and analysis.
- Support the CFO with quarterly Board packs for the Holdings Board, Trust, and subsidiaries.
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, supporting transfer pricing requirements.
Compliance, governance, & controls
- Ensure compliance with statutory reporting, tax obligations, and financial regulations.
- Lead the annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the business and manage risk.
Cash flow & working capital
- Oversee weekly cashflow reporting, highlighting risks and maintaining appropriate surplus.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable to ensure efficient working capital management.
- Oversee foreign currency balances and multi-currency reporting.
- Work closely with HR and outsourced payroll to ensure accurate and timely monthly payroll and benefits administration.
Team leadership & improvement
- Lead and mentor a small Finance Team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Drive enhancements to financial systems, controls, and processes, encouraging automation and the use of technology (including AI) to improve efficiency.
- Partner with teams across the business to streamline workflows and strengthen cross-functional ways of working.
What we need to see (essential)
- ACA- or ACCA-qualified accountant, trained in practice.
- Experience working as a Group Finance Manager or Financial Controller, ideally within an agency or similar environment.
- Proven experience establishing internal controls and improving processes through automation.
- Strong MS Excel skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- A proactive, adaptable all-rounder who enjoys working collaboratively as part of a team.
