Synergy Personnel Ltd is recruiting on behalf of our client, for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a major roofing and cladding project near Cardiff.

Location: Cardiff, South Wales

Job Type: Full-Time | Project Contract (1–3 Years Initially)

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a driven and experienced Site Manager to lead the delivery of a significant roofing and cladding package on a major construction project. This project is expected to run for a minimum of 18 months, with excellent opportunities for continued work and career progression within the business.

The Project

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing works including:

  • 10,000m² of built-up felt roofing including insulation
  • Lightweight steel structures for roof sheeting
  • 3,100m² of metal roof sheeting
  • 3,600m² of vertical cladding and translucent sheeting
  • Fall arrest systems installation
  • Associated refurbishment and construction works

The Role

Working closely alongside the Principal Contractor's management team, you will take responsibility for a package of works from commencement through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day management of site operations
  • Coordination of labour, subcontractors, plant and materials
  • Monitoring project progress and reporting to senior management
  • Managing health, safety and quality standards on site
  • Liaising with the Principal Contractor, designers and supply chain partners
  • Identifying and resolving technical and operational issues
  • Maintaining site records and project documentation
  • Supporting successful project delivery through to handover

Requirements

  • Previous Site Management experience within roofing, cladding or the building envelope sector
  • Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Experience managing multiple subcontractors and work fronts
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • SMSTS
  • CSCS Card
  • First Aid at Work

Desirable Experience

  • Roofing and cladding background
  • Experience on refurbishment and industrial projects
  • Temporary Works awareness
  • Knowledge of building envelope systems and detailing
