Synergy Mission Critical is a specialist consultancy delivering Commissioning Management, BMS integration, QA/QC, and technical project leadership for Data Centres and Mission Critical environments across the UK and Europe. As we continue to grow across the UK, we are looking for a motivated Commissioning Manager to join our team and develop into a confident, technically capable leader within the commissioning discipline.
Role Overview: The Commissioning Manager will support the planning, coordination, and execution of Commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, controls, and integrated systems on large-scale Data Centre projects. This role is ideal for someone early in their Commissioning or technical project delivery career who wants structured development, exposure to complex environments, and the opportunity to grow into a full Commissioning Manager role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of Commissioning plans, scripts, and schedules.
- Support the coordination of Commissioning activities with contractors, vendors, and client teams.
- Track progress against commissioning milestones and report updates to senior Cx managers.
- Participate in witnessing, testing, and verification of mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
- Help maintain commissioning documentation, logs, and quality records.
Quality & Technical Assurance:
- Support QA/QC checks on installed systems, ensuring compliance with design, standards, and project requirements.
- Assist in identifying defects, tracking close-out actions, and ensuring corrective measures are completed.
- Contribute to risk reviews, method statement reviews, and technical assessments.
Project Coordination:
- Attend site meetings, toolbox talks, and Commissioning workshops.
- Liaise with subcontractors, OEMs, and project stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of Commissioning activities.
- Support the integration of BMS/controls systems into the wider Commissioning programme.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate Commissioning records, test sheets, and progress trackers.
- Assist in preparing Commissioning reports, handover packs, and client documentation.
- Ensure all documentation is aligned with Synergy's structured delivery approach.
Skills & Experience:
- Technical background in mechanical, electrical, building services, or controls engineering.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication skills and confidence working with contractors and technical teams.
- A proactive, detail-driven approach with a willingness to learn.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Full Driving license.
Desirable:
- Experience in Commissioning, QA/QC, or technical project delivery (even at trainee/assistant level).
- Exposure to Data Centres, critical environments, or large-scale MEP projects.
- Understanding of BMS/controls systems and integrated testing.
- CSCS card or relevant site qualifications.
