This is a part-time (22.5 hours) fixed-term role to cover maternity leave.

Job Purpose

The People Circles mission is to empower 1Team to live our values, fulfil our potential and realise our vision. You will help promote and deliver that promise by collaborating with other members of the People Circle to ensure our People function is compassionate, compliant and commercially effective. This role will be integral in supporting the administrative and transactional aspects of the People function. You will have the ability to work autonomously on transactional tasks while also assisting with more complex People duties as required. You will support the People Person throughout the recruitment lifecycle, including candidate sourcing, interview co-ordination & onboarding processes. You will gain exposure to a wide variety of People tasks and will proactively contribute to supporting the wellbeing and welfare of our team.

Key Responsibilities

1Team Culture & Values

  • Be an ambassador for 1Team by promoting and upholding Synergy Learnings culture and values, internally and externally.
  • Continuously work to promote and strengthen our employer brand proposition.
  • Contribute to enhancing the 1Team experience by delivering efficient People services, while actively promoting and participating in 1Team and Culture Circle events.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Create branded job descriptions and vacancy documentation.
  • Post approved recruitment campaigns on our job boards, and collaborate with our Marketing circle to ensure promotion via our social channels.
  • Assist with direct candidate sourcing, and collaborate with trusted agency partners to identify suitable candidates, ensuring they understand our needs and standards, and follow the correct process.
  • Contribute to a first-class candidate experience where all our Job applicants are treated in a friendly, respectful and equitable way.
  • Maintain communications and records on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).
  • Coordinate candidate communications and interview scheduling.
  • Ensure Right-to-Work checks are completed and maintained.
  • Manage the reference checking process (we currently use RefNow).
  • Assist People Circle to ensure all new 1Teamers receive a first-class onboarding experience.

Absence & Wellbeing

  • Manage the administration of sickness absence and other leave types.
  • Support People Circle to conduct well-being check-ins.
  • Collaborate with others on wellbeing, CSR and social programmes to actively promote wellness, community purpose and connection.

Administration & Compliance

  • Support the day to day operations, administration and general duties of the People Circle, including maintenance of our HRIS.
  • Process documentation and prepare reports relating to personnel activities as requested.
  • Efficiently respond to (or escalate) 1Team requests regarding People issues, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant absence, leave and salary data.
  • Support our complaints and grievance procedures as required, including taking meeting minutes where required.

Essential Criteria - You must have:

  • 2+ years experience in a People / HR function.
  • The right to live and work (and be resident in) the UK or Ireland.
  • Proficient in using HRIS & Applicant Tracking Systems (we use BambooHR).
  • A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or be working towards completion).
  • A basic understanding of relevant employment laws, regulations and best practice.

Valuable Experience - We would love you to have:

  • A degree-level education in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience of Equal Opportunities Monitoring and Article 55 Review.
  • Knowledge of the Learning Tech sector or similar industries.
  • Previous experience of recruiting technical roles.
  • Familiarity with Mac OS.
  • Previous experience of using communication tools, e.g. Slack, Asana, Confluence.
  • Proficiency with Google suite.
