About the Role
Our client is currently recruiting a proactive and experienced MHE (Mechanical Handling Equipment) & Training Supervisor to oversee the safe operation, maintenance, and training of all MHE across their site. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone passionate about safety, compliance, and developing people.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily use and performance of all MHE (e.g. forklifts, pallet trucks, reach trucks)
- Ensure all equipment is maintained, inspected, and compliant with relevant regulations
- Deliver and coordinate MHE training, inductions, and refresher courses for staff
- Assess operator competency and maintain accurate training records
- Lead investigations into incidents, near misses, and equipment faults
- Promote a strong safety culture across the operation
- Liaise with external training providers and service engineers as required
- Support operational teams to ensure efficiency and safe working practices
Requirements
- Proven experience working with MHE in a warehouse or logistics environment
- Valid MHE licences (RTITB, ITSSAR, or equivalent)
- Experience delivering training or coaching staff (formal training qualification desirable)
- Strong knowledge of health & safety regulations relating to MHE
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- Train the Trainer certification
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience
