About the Role
At Synergy Care & Education, we believe great care starts with great people. We’re seeking dedicated Health Care Assistants (HCAs) to provide exceptional person-centred support in residential and nursing care homes in Liskeard and surrounding area. Your compassion and professionalism will help residents maintain comfort, dignity, and independence.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver hands-on care, including personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence support.
- Assist with safe mobility and transfers, using hoists or other equipment as required.
- Monitor and record vital signs, promptly reporting any changes to senior staff or nursing teams.
- Support residents during mealtimes: preparing, serving, and assisting with feeding when necessary.
- Provide companionship, conversation, and meaningful activities to enhance emotional well-being.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment that meets infection-control standards.
- Follow individual care plans and uphold resident confidentiality at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine empathy, patience, and a passion for improving quality of life.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Previous experience as an HCA, care assistant, or support worker in a care-home or nursing-home setting is an advantage.
- Understanding of dementia care and other age-related conditions is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with residents, families, and colleagues.
- Physically able to assist with lifting or mobility when required.
