We have partnered with a global IT consultancy delivering secure, large-scale infrastructure projects for UK public sector programmes. We're seeking an experienced Security Cleared (SC) Virtual Infrastructure Automation Engineer to support the deployment of a Digital Imaging and Management Subsystems.
This outside IR35 contract role will focus on building, automating, and securing GPU-accelerated virtual infrastructure in line with strict operational and security standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provision and manage virtualised infrastructure (Ubuntu/RHEL), including GPU-based systems
- Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code scripts using Ansible and Terraform
- Implement secure networking, firewalls, and HTTPS configurations
- Ensure OS and application hardening, including vulnerability mitigation and cert management
- Integrate monitoring and logging tools (e.g. rsyslog, SCOM)
- Collaborate on CI/CD, environment setup, incremental deployments, and release processes
- Maintain configuration documentation and task tracking via JIRA
- Linux systems: Ubuntu & RHEL
- IaC tools: Ansible & Terraform
- GPU virtualisation & dynamic resource tuning
- Networking & secure endpoint configuration
- Docker/Kubernetes
- Enterprise logging/monitoring (e.g., rsyslog, SCOM)
- Strong understanding of infrastructure security
