The Warfare Specialist Submarine subject matter expert (SME) is responsible for gathering the technical data to support the courseware & media development programme. The Warfare Specialist will have suitable Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour and will understand the technical data required, the sources of that data and how to access that data.
The Requirements Team SME’s will work with the Courseware and Media Teams to identify technical data requirements for the development of Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) courseware and media. Having identified the data requirements, the Requirements Team SME will work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
Skills and Experience- Proven at sea experience in a Warfare Department e.g. OOW/POOW, Optronics, Navigation, BPO, Coxswain, Tactical Picture Supervisor, Sonar Director duties.
- Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis, design, maintenance, review and production of DSAT Documentation & processes for our Customer’s training sites and organisations.
- Interviewing subject matter experts to collate required data, participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
- Work with the customer and the customer’s agents and suppliers to identify technical data required for courseware and media development and also routes to obtain the data.
- Work with the courseware and media content developers to contextualise training and language and ensure correct conditions and standards are applied to the training solution.
- Conduct the upkeep, update and revalidation of course technical data.
- Identify where training methods and media currently in use in the Customer may be exploited to better develop and deliver the Programme’s courseware.
- Be ‘Responsible for championing and fostering a culture of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and continuous improvement’.
