Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Third Line Infrastructure Engineer to work at a leading defence client, on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be working within a critical national infrastructure project, and will work in a team that provides 24/7 support to infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide 3rd line technical support to an onsite Deployment team.
- Proactively minimise risks that could impact deployment timelines.
- Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
- Act as a technical escalation point for 1st and 2nd line support teams.
- Support root cause analysis and implement preventative measures.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and project teams to ensure smooth releases.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and knowledge base updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of deployment and support processes.
This project runs on a 24/7 working basis, so will require flexibility as to shift working.
Experience required:
- Proven experience in a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer, Senior Support, or Infrastructure Engineer role.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex production environments.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level applications and deployments.
- Excellent infrastructure knowledge, including DevOps (including Ansible), Cloud support and integrations.
- Familiarity with Legacy system support and transition to modern platforms.
- Cloud server experience that ideally includes Azure and AWS.
- Knowledge of Windows/Linux server environments.
- Networking fundamentals.
- Databases (eg, SQL).
- Application support and deployment tooling.
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment would be desirable but not essential.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to escalate queries where required.
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
