We are seeking an experienced Azure Software Engineer (AI) to join a high-profile programme delivering next-generation AI-powered capabilities within a secure and highly regulated environment. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI and Cloud Engineering, designing and building intelligent, cloud-native solutions on Microsoft Azure. You will play a key role in transforming business requirements into scalable, secure and production-ready AI applications, working alongside architects, data scientists, engineers and stakeholders across a complex enterprise landscape.

The Role
As an Azure Software Engineer (AI), you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying intelligent applications and AI-driven solutions using Microsoft's Azure ecosystem. Working within a multidisciplinary Agile team, you'll contribute across the full AI lifecycle, from experimentation and proof of concept through to deployment, optimisation and ongoing support.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and developing AI-enabled applications using Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services and Azure Machine Learning
- Building Generative AI solutions leveraging LLMs, prompt engineering, embeddings and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Integrating Machine Learning models into enterprise applications using Azure ML endpoints and APIs
- Developing scalable APIs and cloud-native services
- Creating robust data ingestion, transformation and processing pipelines
- Implementing MLOps practices including model deployment, monitoring, retraining and lifecycle management
- Applying Responsible AI principles and governance standards
- Working closely with architects, data engineers, data scientists and business stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
