Contract Lead Project Controller Luton (4 days a week) SC Clearance is essential + Non dual nationality (Due to the classification of the project) Up to £70 p/h Inside IR35.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated security cleared Lead Project Controller to provide leadership and expertise across a complex engineering programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust planning, scheduling, governance, risk management and performance reporting, contributing directly to the successful delivery of critical engineering projects.
Essential Requirements
- Expert-level proficiency in Primavera P6.
- Extensive and demonstrable experience in Project Controls, Planning and Project Management methodologies, including Agile, within large-scale and complex engineering programmes.
- Proven experience supporting multidisciplinary teams in schedule development.
- Experience using reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI and SAP Business Objects.
- Strong understanding of all project lifecycle phases, particularly initiation, planning and execution.
- Demonstrated expertise in Schedule Risk Analysis methodologies, including risk identification, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and recommendation of mitigation actions.
- Previous experience in coaching, mentoring or leading project controls teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the quality and integrity of Project Controls across the programme through the application of consistent processes, methodologies, governance and guidance.
- Drive and promote schedule excellence, implementing best-practice planning techniques and schedule risk analysis throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage the integration and integrity of partner and subcontractor schedules, ensuring dependencies are clearly identified and risks appropriately managed within the overall programme schedule.
- Conduct scenario planning and 'what-if' analysis to support decision-making and risk mitigation strategies.
- Identify, assess and manage schedule-related risks, applying recognised Schedule Risk Analysis techniques and working proactively with project teams to implement effective mitigation plans and corrective actions.
- Ensure Project Controls metrics, including Earned Value Management (EVM), are consistently applied, understood and used to drive performance and project objectives.
- Mentor, coach and develop members of the Project Controls team, promoting best practice and supporting successful project delivery.
- Lead Project Controls contributions to programme and project reviews, including schedule reviews and performance assessments.
