IT Services Engineer (Home Office SC) - Buckinghamshire - Contract role - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an IT Services Engineer to work onsite at a leading defence client of ours on a contract basis.
This is a varied role covering many key areas of support to a large deployment project and involves supporting both hardware and software systems, ensuring equipment is configured correctly, and performing testing before deployment to users or client environments.
You will play a key role in maintaining IT infrastructure and ensuring systems are ready for operational use.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain critical IT hardware
Install, update, and troubleshoot operating systems and business software
Test and validate IT equipment before deployment to ensure reliability and performance
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues reported by users
Assist with system upgrades, patching, and routine maintenance tasks
Document configurations, testing procedures, and support activities
Support the rollout of new hardware and software across the organisation
Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth IT operations
Experience required:
A demonstrable background in IT hardware and software support
Strong hands-on engineer skills, including those related to deployment, rollout, installation and testing
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of Windows operating systems and common business applications
Familiarity with testing processes, prior to system launches and go-live
Ability to manage hardware assets, logging correctly within internal systems and managing them through the deployment lifecycle
Experience working with switches, routers and servers within a deployment/installation environment
Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (Home Office SC).
