As part of this partnership, we are currently seeking experienced Security Cleared (SC) Integration, Test and Verification Engineering Professionals to join us on this journey with the offering of either an initial 6-month delivery-based contract (OUTSIDE IR35). The roles will be based at our customers' busy and secure site in South East Dorset, with the requirement to attend site a minimum of 3-4 days a week (due to the secure nature of our clients' work and the project classification levels surrounding this).
Overview of Integration, Test and Verification Engineering: The Integration, Test & Verification Engineering service will be responsible for the integration of individual components to create assemblies and subsystems that are tested and verified. Subsystems that comply with the requirements, specifications and environmental conditions can proceed to full system and platform integration.
Working with a range of COTS products and appliances, bespoke hardware components, metalwork, wiring looms, racking equipment, power, software operating systems, builds and clampdowns within a set of dedicated rig facilities, the team will undertake activities to build and configure all equipment, capturing the subsystem design and integration detail in repeatable plans, reports and verifying using appropriate subsystem test scripts. The resulting subsystems will asset tracked & configuration controlled, with change management applied at all levels, as they are taken forward for systems & platform integration.
Service Deliverables: This service will include the production of the following deliverables within the Design Phase:
- Demonstrable compliant subsystems;
- System & subsystem integration plans;
- System & subsystem test scripts & reports;
- Asset tracking.
Essential skills and experience: In order to deliver this service and the scale of the solution, it is unlikely that any one individual would have all the relevant essential skills and experience. Any individual should therefore have some of the essential specialism experience below:
- Networking Firewall appliances, such as those by Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet;
- RF Radios, ESA & Parabolic antenna, such as those by L3 Harris;
- Commercial or Military Satcom modem (C, X, Ku or Ka), such as those by L3 Harris;
- Cross domain services, including data verification, protocol breaks, release control;
- Infrastructure/network service management monitoring tools, such as Splunk/CheckMK;
- Windows server OS builds, security hardening and patching & virtualisation;
- Communication Security, PKI and Cryptography including NCSC approved devices;
- 4G/5G/6G mobile technologies.
Desirable skills and experience: In order to deliver this service, it is desirable that individuals have experience of:
- Design & integrating hardware and software (COTS and bespoke) together to achieve system and subsystem design specifications;
- Production of test scripts to demonstrate subsystem requirement compliance;
- Conducting integration testing and recording results and observations;
- Fault diagnosis, investigations and recommendations;
- Asset management, configuration control and change management;
- Environmental conditions and impact on IT & communication systems;
- Product safety and security.
