We are supporting a major UK-based manufacturing transformation programme and are looking for an experienced MES Implementation Consultant with strong hands-on experience deploying Siemens Opcenter. This role will play a key part in the implementation and stabilisation of a modern Manufacturing execution system environment, working closely with internal technical teams and vendor specialists to deploy, configure and troubleshoot Siemens-delivered MES configurations.

The Role

The successful consultant will support the deployment and configuration of Siemens MES tooling within a cloud-hosted environment, ensuring successful integration with enterprise platforms across the digital manufacturing stack. You will collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing IT, and vendor teams to ensure smooth delivery across development, test, and production environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the deployment and configuration of Siemens Opcenter MES solutions within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Work closely with vendor specialists through remote collaboration and screen-sharing sessions to troubleshoot and debug configuration deployments.
  • Execute and monitor Windows services and command-line operations supporting MES deployment and maintenance.
  • Support integration between Siemens Opcenter, Teamcenter Easy Plan, and SAP S/4HANA, ensuring alignment across PLM, MES, and ERP environments.
  • Liaise with external technology partners during platform transition and re-platforming activities.
  • Provide technical input into test planning, validation, and environment readiness.
  • Document deployment procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of MES implementation practices.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience implementing Siemens MES solutions, particularly Siemens Opcenter.
  • Strong understanding of the MES deployment lifecycle and configuration management practices.
  • Experience integrating MES platforms with PLM and ERP systems, including Teamcenter Easy Plan and SAP S/4HANA.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing MES platforms within Microsoft Azure environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows service management and command-line tooling.
  • Experience working in remote troubleshooting environments using screen-sharing and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to operate effectively in multi-vendor delivery environments.
