We are supporting a major defence engineering programme and are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Supportability/ILS Engineer to join a highly secure environment in Bristol (up to 4 days on site). This role sits within a complex Military Air/Combat Air support environment, working closely with other MOD clients and industry partners to ensure systems remain fully supportable, resilient, and effective throughout transition into service and operational use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and support Support Solution Development Tools (SSDT) outputs
- Conduct Supportability Analysis to influence system design and ensure long-term supportability
- Analyse engineering evidence to improve Resilience, Agility, and Preparedness (RAP) during Transition to Conflict (TTC) scenarios
- Support optimisation of in-service support solutions including obsolescence management and support assurance documentation
- Collaborate closely with MOD clients and defence industry partners
- Contribute to integrated logistics support (ILS) activities across complex defence systems
Essential Experience:
- Strong background in ILS/Supportability Engineering within Defence
- Experience working in Military Air environments (ideally Combat Air)
- Understanding of support solution development and engineering support processes
- Familiarity with DEFSTAN 00-600 and S3000 series standards
- Experience working in complex MOD/contractor delivery environments
- Ability to analyse technical evidence and support system sustainment decisions
Desirable:
- Experience in obsolescence management and in-service support optimisation
- Exposure to RAP/TTC frameworks or similar defence readiness models
- Strong stakeholder engagement across MOD and industry partners
