We are seeking a Principal Network Engineer to support the design and development of network architecture. The role will focus on maintaining critical infrastructure and development environments, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable network solutions that support engineering and testing activities.

You will work closely with the Lead Systems Engineer and wider engineering teams to deliver high-quality network systems across both lab and trials environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the creation and evolution of network architecture
  • Maintain and manage lab infrastructure and associated development environments
  • Configure systems in line with Lead Systems Engineer requirements
  • Support trials site activities, including deployment and operational readiness
  • Contribute to the implementation and improvement of network design and deployment processes
Knowledge & Experience Required
  • Strong understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection Model
  • Solid knowledge of IPv4 Addressing
  • Experience with Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN) configuration and design
  • Understanding of network implementation and deployment in operational environments
  • Knowledge of network architecture principles and design patterns
  • Familiarity with NetConf
  • Understanding of Network Security
  • Awareness of Safety Critical Networks
  • Knowledge of Time Sensitive Networking
