We are looking for an Air Systems Design Engineer.
About the role: The Aircraft Weight and Balance Engineer (Contractor) is required to undertake a role within the Aircraft Systems Design Team of Raytheon's Airborne ISR business, supporting aircraft projects within Raytheon Airborne ISR Broughton site. The work shall be performed under both civil and military regulatory environments. The successful candidate will work with and report to the Aircraft Design Engineering team.
The work to be undertaken is to work with existing data and toolsets (predominantly excel based) to produce a robust and reusable aircraft weight and balance tool. The tool shall be capable of taking existing aircraft role fit data, new modification data and in service role fit and carry on data to calculate accurate weight and balance evidence to be used for design assurance, aircraft certification evidence and in service operation performance calculations.
This role is ideally suited to an experienced aircraft engineer with knowledge of aircraft weight calculations and procedure creation. The contract role is to produce the tool and operating procedure to allow its ongoing use by other design and in service engineers. A high level of attention to detail is required. The role is task based and therefore it may be performed remotely or at the on-site offices with flexible hours of work.
- Knowledge of aircraft weight and balance requirements and calculations.
- Proven and recent experience in the design, integration and certification of aircraft avionic and mechanical systems.
- Ideally with SC clearance but must be eligible to go through the process so British Nationals only.
