Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Cabling Engineer to work at a leading consultancy client of ours on a short-term contract basis. The successful candidate will provide a high level of support to the running of a large data centre and will ensure that services are fully operational and are protected and secure.
Responsibilities include:
- Physical racking and installation of cables, and replacement of existing cables where required
- Manage data centre capacity, including airflow and power analysis, and identifies and implements efficiency improvements where required
- Labelling cables and networks where required
- Conducting regular IT asset audits to uphold data accuracy and compliance
- Validating technical designs to ensure safe housing and supportability
- Providing general technical expertise to all parties operating within the data centre estate
Experience required:
- Cabling and installation abilities, and the ability to connect and install cables at height or within a complex layout
- A strong background in providing technical support within a Datacentre environment
- Strong experience of installing and de-installing IT equipment in data centres
- A good working knowledge of all aspects of IT infrastructure, including networks
