We have partnered with a global IT consultancy on a high-priority OpenShift platform upgrade and are looking for a Security Cleared (SC) OpenShift Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead technical assurance, validation, and migration activities for a new OpenShift 4.18 environment. This is a contract position (inside IR35) and SC clearance is required (or you must be eligible and willing to go through vetting).
Project Overview:
You'll support the migration of critical workloads from OpenShift 4.14 to a clean-slate 4.18 build. This includes validating core components, migrating applications and operators, and ensuring platform stability for essential business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and validate OpenShift 4.x clusters from scratch
- Migrate apps, infrastructure components, and OpenShift operators
- Validate platform configurations, installation scripts, and services
- Work closely with CI/CD tools, IaC, and GitOps methodologies
Technical Skills Required
- Strong OpenShift & Kubernetes experience (v4.x preferred)
- Comfortable with enterprise OpenShift setup and tuning
- Familiar with key operators: Vault, Quay, Clair, Keycloak, Istio
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible)
- CI/CD tools: Jenkins, ArgoCD, Tekton
- Scripting in Bash or Python
Desirable Certifications
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift
- Kubernetes CKA
- Red Hat Certified Application Developer
