We are recruiting an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Senior Consultant to support large-scale SAP transformation programmes delivered within complex and regulated environments across the UK. This role offers the opportunity to work end-to-end on SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, playing a key role in designing, configuring, and assuring compliant and integrated financial processes.
Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be sole British nationals, have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years, and be willing to undergo SC Security Clearance.
As an SAP S/4HANA Finance Senior Consultant, you will deliver hands-on functional expertise across core Finance processes, working closely with Finance stakeholders, solution architects, and cross-functional teams to implement best-practice SAP solutions. You will support statutory compliance, enable efficient financial operations, and ensure seamless integration with Procurement, Sales, Projects, and HR/Payroll.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Finance workshops to capture requirements and translate them into SAP S/4HANA solutions
- Configure SAP S/4HANA Finance modules including GL, AP, AR, Asset Accounting, and Bank Accounting
- Support the design of financial close, reconciliations, and reporting processes
- Ensure Finance integration with MM (P2P), SD (OTC), PS (Projects), and HCM (Payroll)
- Produce functional specifications for WRICEF objects
- Support Finance data migration (balances, open items, assets) and reconciliation cycles
- Participate in SIT, UAT, regression testing, and cutover activities
- Provide post-go-live support and knowledge transfer to Finance users
- Contribute to project documentation including process maps, test scripts, and training materials
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (GL, AP, AR, AA, Banking)
- Solid understanding of IFRS/GAAP, tax configuration, and statutory compliance
- Experience with financial close, reconciliations, and reporting
- Integration knowledge across Procurement, Sales, Payroll, and Projects
- Ability to produce blueprints, functional specifications, and testing artefacts
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills
- Experience working across the full SAP project life cycle
- SAP S/4HANA Finance (1909 or later)
- SAP Fiori for Finance processes
- SAP Activate methodology
- Test and change management tools (e.g. Solution Manager, JIRA, qTest)
- SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) for reporting (advantageous)
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, or IT (or equivalent experience)
- SAP S/4HANA Financial Accounting certification (desirable)
- Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, CPA) advantageous
- Strong communication and presentation skills with Finance stakeholders
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and solution-focused mindset
- Ability to explain Finance processes to non-technical audiences
- Comfortable working in a collaborative, consulting-led environment
