Software Engineer – Aerospace / Aircraft Systems
Location: Berkshire 2–3 days per week on-site
Rate: Up to £80 per hour
IR35: Inside IR35
Contract: Mid-term contract with potential for extension
Clearance: Current, active UK security clearance essential
Are you an experienced Software Engineer with a background in aerospace, aviation, aircraft or flight systems?
We’re seeking talented engineers to join a major Defence prime on a significant MOD programme at the forefront of AI, autonomous drones and next-generation aerospace engineering.
This is an opportunity to contribute to advanced engineering capabilities within a complex defence environment, working on technology that is helping shape the future of autonomous systems and aerospace innovation.
The role
You’ll bring your software engineering expertise to a technically challenging programme, contributing to the development and integration of software within sophisticated aerospace or defence engineering environments.
We’re particularly interested in professionals who understand the demands of complex, safety-critical or mission-critical systems and can apply their experience to innovative engineering programmes.
What we’re looking for
- **SECURITY CLEARED** SC Software Engineers with proven software engineering experience within the aerospace, aircraft, aviation or flight systems industries, or a closely related engineering environment.
- Experience working with complex software systems, ideally within safety-critical or mission-critical applications.
- A strong understanding of software engineering principles and structured development processes.
- The ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- An interest in emerging technologies, including AI, autonomous systems and advanced aerospace capabilities.
