Obsolescence Engineer Remote working in the U.K 12 Month contract Up to Β£53 p/h Outside IR35 We are looking for an experienced Obsolescence Engineer to join a high-profile engineering programme within the defence sector. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in managing component and equipment obsolescence, ensuring long-term supportability and reducing technical risk across complex systems. Working within an established engineering team, you will investigate obsolescence issues, assess risks, develop mitigation strategies, and produce robust technical evidence to support engineering change decisions. Key Responsibilities Deliver obsolescence management activities in accordance with the project Obsolescence Management Plan (OMP). Review and maintain the Obsolescence Management Plan throughout the project life cycle. Investigate engineering Change Queries (CQIs) and provide timely technical assessments. Evaluate obsolescence risks and develop effective mitigation strategies in line with IEC 62402 . Produce high-quality solution documents to support Change Query Final Answers (CQFAs).
