SC Cleared - Senior Subcontract/Technical Buyer - Defence Engineering - SC Required in Milton Keynes

We are currently seeking a hands‑on SC Cleared (SC) Senior Subcontract/Technical Buyer to support complex engineering development programmes. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in engineering procurement, able to work closely with technical teams, and manage the end‑to‑end sourcing of complex test equipment, prototype parts, and engineered materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Work directly with Engineering teams to understand technical requirements
• Source, evaluate, and procure complex equipment and materials for development projects
• Run RFQs, negotiate pricing, and manage suppliers throughout delivery
• Support subcontract administration (no heavy contract drafting required)
• Manage purchasing activity for prototype and low‑volume engineered items
• Work within secure Defence environments

Essential Experience

• Strong background in technical/engineering procurement
• Experience purchasing test equipment, electronic/mechanical components, or technical materials
• Proven ability to engage with engineers and translate requirements into purchasing actions
• Supplier management, negotiation, RFQ management
• Defence, aerospace, or other secure engineering project experience
