Modern Workplace Consultant (SC) - Contract role - Hybrid/London - £competitive
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for an SC Cleared Modern Workplace Consultant to work at a leading consultancy client of ours on a contract basis.
The successful candidate will support the management, maintenance, and ongoing optimisation of end user devices within a modern enterprise environment.
They will also be responsible for testing, validating, deploying, and troubleshooting software updates, patches, configurations, and device management changes using Microsoft Intune and associated endpoint management technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and validate vendor updates, configuration scripts, software packages, and other changes prior to deployment to end user devices.
- Deploy approved software updates, security patches, applications, and configuration changes to managed end user devices through Microsoft Intune.
- Monitor device update and configuration deployments to ensure successful implementation and continued device compliance.
- Make appropriate changes to Microsoft Autopatch and Hotpatch deployment frequencies where required, based on Microsoft guidance and organisational requirements.
- Manage and adjust Samsung KNOX FOTA and Apple iOS update frequencies where required, in accordance with relevant vendor guidance and organisational requirements.
- Make necessary changes to software packaging to support successful application and update deployments.
- Monitor, investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate issues arising from software updates, configuration changes, and device management activities.
- Identify recurring deployment or compliance issues and implement appropriate remedial actions.
- Work closely with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain a reliable and secure end user computing environment.
- Help ensure end user devices remain secure, compliant, up to date, and fit for purpose while minimising disruption to users.
Experience required:
- Strong experience with Microsoft Intune and endpoint/device management.
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting software updates, patches, applications, and configuration policies.
- Understanding of Microsoft Autopatch and Hotpatch.
- Experience with mobile device management, ideally including Apple iOS and Samsung KNOX.
- Experience with software packaging and application deployment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good attention to detail and a structured approach to testing and change implementation.
- The ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- A strong focus on maintaining device security, compliance, availability, and user productivity.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
