We're looking for an experienced security cleared Principal RF Engineer to join a team developing next-generation RF and microwave technology for advanced defence and aerospace programmes. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge radar and sensing technologies, contributing to the development of complex RF systems that will shape future air and defence capabilities. You'll play a key role throughout the complete hardware development life cycle, from concept through to integration and production, working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Due to the nature of the work and security requirements, this is a hybrid position with the majority of time spent onsite in Edinburgh (typically around three days per week, depending on project requirements).

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Live security clearance (SC)
  • RF and Microwave subsystem design
  • RF system integration and verification
  • Microwave circuit design and analysis
  • RF laboratory measurements, including Signal generators, Spectrum analysers and Vector Network Analysers (VNAs)
  • Microwave design and simulation tools
  • GaAs and/or GaN MMIC design and application
  • Passive microwave structure design
  • Low phase noise design and measurement
  • Microwave component selection
  • Technical documentation and report writing
  • Design reviews and engineering life cycle management

Please only apply if you hold live security clearance and are willing/able to be based onsite in Edinburgh on average three days a week (Project dependant).
