Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Configuration and Data Management Engineer to work at a leading defence client on a contract basis. The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing all elements of data and documentation control within a large defence programme. This will involve managing internally generated documents as well as those from the customer, and from partner and sub-contracting organisations. As well as maintaining the project repository, the incumbent may be responsible for the running of regular Configuration Change Control Boards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support on-going Data Management processes, including Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), Integrated Product Development Process (IPDP) and Data Management (DM) internal audit gate review activities.
  • Administering the project's Configuration Change Control Board (CCCB).
  • Ensuring that all required deliverable and non-deliverable contract data are properly identified, scheduled, marked, approved, inspected, submitted, and accepted.
  • Manage Configuration Verification and Audits in compliance with Customer, Company, Security, and Program Standards.
  • Apply and administer Configuration Planning.
  • Oversee Configuration Change Management.

Experience required:

  • A strong background in Configuration Management and a skilled knowledge of how to locate Configuration Management & Data Management (CMDM) processes and artifacts.
  • Possessing a general awareness of the Five Configuration Management (CM) pillars.
  • Working knowledge of Windchill.
  • An understanding of records management and associated processes.
  • Previous experience in the defence or aerospace sectors would be highly desirable.
  • Usage of collaborative software tools such as SharePoint or Kahootz would be beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
