Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a H&S Site Safety Lead to work at a leading defence client on a contract basis. This role forms part of a large national infrastructure programme and the successful candidate will oversee the management of safety processes and regulations on a number of sites.

Start date: Immediate

Location: After an initial training period, all work will be based nationwide, with sites scheduled accordingly.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as the main on-site point of contact, coordinating daily activities with all stakeholders.
  • Verify that all teams have suitable and sufficient RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) in place prior to commencing work.
  • Manage all local health and safety matters, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
  • Monitor site progress to ensure works are completed to the required standards and within agreed timelines.
  • Ensure all necessary certification (e.g. electrical safety inspection certificates) is completed and issued upon job completion.
  • Confirm that each site is left clean, safe, and fully completed before demobilisation and moving to the next location.

Experience required:

  • A background in Health & Safety focused roles, ideally having worked in a Manager or Lead role previously.
  • Ability to work as a site authority, or main point of contact for H&S issues.
  • Experience of completing pre-assessments and RAMS documentation.
  • Strong knowledge and awareness of H&S legislation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise with a network of stakeholders.
  • Holding, or currently pursuing, industry standard certifications such as NEBOSH or SMSTS.
  • Flexibility as to travel, and occasionally working late hours/weekends.
  • Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
