Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Commercial Officer to work at a leading defence client, on a contract basis. The successful candidate will support the commercial function of a large portfolio team, assisting with all commercial, contracts and bid functions, to ensure the smooth running of the team's existing and future business.
Responsibilities include:
- Work with, and support, the Contracts Manager to develop and maintain strong customer relationships, whilst building a visible commercial presence on site.
- Support the preparation and submission of bids, ensuring proposals are aligned with customer requirements.
- Represent the commercial function in stakeholder meetings, and deputise for the Contracts Manager onsite when necessary.
- Manage day-to-day contract administration, including the processing of proposals, B2B transactions, and managing credit and debit notes.
- Review PO's and related invoices, and raise sales orders with new and existing customers.
Experience required:
- A strong background in administration and business support that includes areas of commercial and contracts management.
- Excellent eye for detail, and the ability to cultivate strong relationships with technical teams, stakeholders and clients.
- Experience in raising PO's and sales orders, as well as invoices and quotes, would be highly desirable.
- Previous usage of SAP, and proficiency in using SAP business modules.
- Previous experience in the defence or engineering sectors is not essential, but would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of import/export processes and related administration.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
