Our client is a leading manufacturer renowned for excellence at their fully automated site, delivering consistent and high-quality food for over 40 years.

We are looking for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a forward-thinking FMCG manufacturing business during an exciting period of growth and investment. This role offers the opportunity to work within a modernising facility, supporting new machinery, production lines, and improved ways of working. Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (days and nights, 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am), you will be responsible for maintaining and improving site equipment, supporting production, reducing downtime, and driving engineering performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of automated production machinery and site systems.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain and improve:
    • Automated network-linked milling, process, and packing equipment
    • Conveyors, motors, and drive systems
    • PLCs, inverters, control panels, and electrical supplies
    • Packaging and process equipment
    • Gas‑fired ovens, extruders, mixers, grinders, and sieves
    • Steam boilers, pipework, valves, hydraulics, and pneumatics
    • Site amenities and facilities
  • Use CMMS systems to record maintenance activities and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Support continuous improvement projects as part of the company’s major investment programme.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and compliance.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Strong multi‑skilled maintenance engineering experience.
  • Electrical maintenance qualifications and hands‑on experience (essential).
  • Mechanical maintenance qualifications and experience.
  • Experience working within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment (essential).
  • Experience maintaining automated production machinery.
  • Knowledge of fault finding, breakdown response, and preventative maintenance.
  • A proactive attitude with a passion for improving machinery performance.
  • The ability to work effectively within a busy, changing environment.
  • A willingness to embrace new technology, machinery, and ways of working.
