Our client is a global leader in the national manufacturing business industry partnering with brands, manufacturers and retailers developing market-leading products.

We are recruiting for Contract Shift Engineers to support a fast-paced FMCG manufacturing environment with flexible, ad hoc shift cover. This role is ideal for experienced engineers already working within FMCG, food manufacturing, or similar production environments who are looking to pick up additional shifts around their current role.

You will be supporting production teams by carrying out reactive and planned maintenance across automated processing and packaging equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance across production and packaging machinery
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults
  • Support production teams to minimise downtime during shift
  • Work on automated production, processing, and packaging equipment
  • Ensure maintenance tasks are completed safely and efficiently
  • Work independently on shift while maintaining strong communication with site teams
  • Attend induction and site familiarisation ahead of shifts where required
The Ideal Candidate will have
  • Previous FMCG or food manufacturing experience
  • Electrical or multi-skilled engineering background
  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience working with automated production or packaging machinery
  • Ability to work independently and confidently on shift
  • A proactive, reliable, and flexible approach to work
Desirable Skills
  • BOAS qualification
  • Experience within snack, food-to-go, or high-volume food production environments
  • Availability for both day and night shifts
  • Previous contract or ad hoc shift cover experience
