Our client is a global exporter supplying food ingredients to customers in the UK and around the world.

We are looking for a proactive Multi Skilled Engineer to maintain plant and building services, ensuring peak performance, reliability, product quality, and safety across a 24/7 food manufacturing facility. The role requires mechanical and electrical skills and may involve work at other UK sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform reactive and planned maintenance on plant and building equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, test motors and systems, and repair using welding and fabrication skills.
  • Apply root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and uphold a right-first-time work ethic.
  • Use CMMS to log work, communicate issues, and manage spare part requirements.
  • Collaborate with other departments, suppliers, and contractors to resolve faults efficiently.
  • Maintain high Health, Safety, Food Safety, and HACCP standards.
  • Share knowledge, support SOPs, and perform additional duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • City & Guilds or BTEC engineering qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance engineering role, preferably in food manufacturing.
  • Safe Electrical Working Certificate and ability to fault‑find on 3‑phase and single‑phase systems.
  • Experience with fabrication, welding, steam, boiler, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy.

Desirable Skills:

  • Forklift and access platform licences.
  • Familiarity with COSHH, IOSH, HACCP, and Food Hygiene procedures.
  • Experience in using SOPs and CMMS systems for maintenance management.
