The Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across a heavy industrial production facility.
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults on plant machinery and production equipment.
- Maintaining conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, motors, chains and hydraulic systems.
- Carrying out mechanical installations, repairs and equipment improvements.
- Supporting preventative maintenance activities to improve plant reliability.
- Assisting with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Minimising downtime and maximising plant performance.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with engineering standards.
What We're Looking For
- Recognised Mechanical Engineering qualification.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, heavy industry, processing, recycling, steel, aggregates, building products, FMCG or similar environments.
- Experience working with conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings and hydraulic systems.
- A proactive and safety-focused approach to maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work a 4 on 4 off days and nights shift pattern.
