We are recruiting a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join an experienced engineering team near Ipswich. This is a stable, days-only role with varied mechanical work across plant, machinery, and site equipment. If you enjoy practical fault-finding, mechanical repairs, and a blend of workshop and site-based tasks, this could be a great opportunity for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out mechanical maintenance and repairs on site equipment and machinery
- Working on plant, vehicles, and mechanical systems
- Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns
- Supporting installations, upgrades, and planned maintenance
- Occasional travel to nearby sites
- Participation in a rotating weekend call-out (additional pay)
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 Mechanical qualification or strong hands-on experience
- Confident working on mechanical plant and equipment
- Comfortable in a heavy industrial environment
- Backgrounds welcomed from industrial, heavy plant, automotive, forces, or similar sectors
- Basic electrical knowledge beneficial but not essential
