We are recruiting for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer with fabrication experience to join a busy manufacturing site. This role would suit a practical, hands-on engineer looking to develop their experience within a production environment. It presents a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the manufacturing sector while working across both workshop fabrication and on-site mechanical maintenance.
The Role
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machinery
- Fabricate and repair parts using workshop equipment, including welding
- Support reactive breakdown repairs and general fault finding
- Work from engineering drawings, manuals and manufacturer instructions
- Use measuring and testing equipment to identify mechanical faults
- Complete daily maintenance records and required paperwork
- Keep the workshop organised and maintain safe working standards
- Monitor spare parts and report stock requirements
- Communicate with production teams to support smooth operations
- Follow health & safety, quality and food safety procedures
About You
- Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance, workshop or engineering role
- Fabrication and welding experience is required
- Comfortable carrying out general mechanical repairs and fault finding
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Reliable, organised and keen to develop within a manufacturing setting
- Committed to maintaining safe working practices
