We are recruiting for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer with fabrication experience to join a busy manufacturing site. This role would suit a practical, hands-on engineer looking to develop their experience within a production environment. It presents a great opportunity to build a long-term career in the manufacturing sector while working across both workshop fabrication and on-site mechanical maintenance.

The Role

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machinery
  • Fabricate and repair parts using workshop equipment, including welding
  • Support reactive breakdown repairs and general fault finding
  • Work from engineering drawings, manuals and manufacturer instructions
  • Use measuring and testing equipment to identify mechanical faults
  • Complete daily maintenance records and required paperwork
  • Keep the workshop organised and maintain safe working standards
  • Monitor spare parts and report stock requirements
  • Communicate with production teams to support smooth operations
  • Follow health & safety, quality and food safety procedures

About You

  • Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance, workshop or engineering role
  • Fabrication and welding experience is required
  • Comfortable carrying out general mechanical repairs and fault finding
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Reliable, organised and keen to develop within a manufacturing setting
  • Committed to maintaining safe working practices
