As a Facilities Engineer, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving production performance across our site. You will ensure equipment reliability, minimise downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives across mechanical, electrical, and control systems. You will be at the heart of a fast-paced FMCG operation.
- Carry out planned, preventative, and corrective maintenance using SAP PM, including pumps, valves, filling lines, and water treatment systems.
- Respond quickly to breakdowns, minimising production disruption.
- Lead or support shutdowns and Asset Care Window activities with internal teams and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards, including LOTO and Permit to Work.
- Accurately record maintenance activities and support site reliability KPIs.
- Apply Lean principles (TPM, RCM, RCA, 5S) to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with operational teams to share technical knowledge and improve processes.
- Provide support for statutory inspections, audits, and water treatment operations.
The ideal candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering (HNC desirable) or equivalent, preferably with a multi-skilled apprenticeship background.
- Proven hands-on experience in manufacturing, FMCG, food, or beverage environments.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, including PLCs (Siemens S7), HMIs, and SCADA systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental legislation, including Food Safety, LOTO, and Permit to Work.
- IT literacy (MS Office) and experience with SAP PM or similar CMMS systems.
- Ability to work on a shift pattern and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
Desirable Skills:
- IET 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Experience in coaching or training others.
- Familiarity with Operational Excellence and Lean tools (RCM, RCA, PDCA, 5S, 5-Why).
- Knowledge of water treatment systems.
