We are recruiting for a Reliability Engineer to join a leading FMCG manufacturing environment, supporting highly automated production lines. This is a days-based role focused on improving asset reliability, reducing downtime, and driving continuous improvement across engineering and production operations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting planned maintenance strategies, improving equipment performance, and working closely with operational teams to deliver safer, more efficient, and more reliable production processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive reliability improvements across automated production machinery and canning/packaging lines.
- Support the development and delivery of planned preventative maintenance strategies.
- Carry out root cause analysis to reduce equipment failure, downtime, and recurring faults.
- Work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, and CI teams to improve site performance.
- Support health, safety, and environmental standards through risk assessments, safe working practices, and hazard reduction.
- Assist with the delivery of SOPs, training plans, and knowledge sharing across engineering teams.
- Provide technical support on reactive issues and support continuous improvement projects.
- Help drive autonomous maintenance and preventative routine maintenance activity across production lines.
- Experience in an FMCG, food, beverage, packaging, or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge within a production setting.
- Experience supporting planned and preventative maintenance activities.
- Good fault-finding skills across automated machinery and production equipment.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs/MMIs, SCADA, and maintenance systems.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and resolve recurring issues.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams.
- Relevant engineering qualifications, such as HNC/HND or equivalent experience.
- Experience within a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement environment.
- Knowledge of SAP or similar maintenance/engineering systems.
- Experience with predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance planning.
- Understanding of utilities, energy reduction, waste streams, and environmental best practice.
- Experience working with contractors, suppliers, permits to work, isolation/lock-off procedures, and risk assessments.
- Knowledge of engineering stores, procurement, stock control, or budget management.
