Job Role & Responsibilities
- Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer working night shifts, responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and mechanical systems within a clean food production environment.
- Reporting into an Engineering Supervisor, the role focuses on ensuring minimal downtime of automated production equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical fault finding, diagnostics, repair and installation
- Wiring and maintenance of control panels, inverters, sensors and three-phase systems
- Mechanical maintenance including bearings, gearboxes, pumps and valves
- Planned and reactive maintenance on automated conveyors and associated processing machinery
- Supporting continuous operation of slicing, wrapping and labelling equipment
- Working effectively under pressure within a small shift team
The Ideal Candidate will have
- Strong electrical bias with proven hands‑on fault-finding ability
- Mechanical maintenance experience in a production environment
- Background in FMCG or food manufacturing
- Experience working with automated conveyor systems
- Ability to work night shifts (Sunday to Thursday, 9pm–6am)
- Confidence working as part of a two-person shift team
Desirable Skills
- Recognised apprenticeship or relevant electrical qualification
- Experience with control panels and automation equipment
- Familiarity with clean food production environments
