Job Role & Key Responsibilities
- To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of site equipment through planned and reactive maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement, food safety, and compliance across all engineering functions.
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and food standards.
- Conduct diagnostics and repairs across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities in CMMS.
- Perform dynamic risk assessments and review contractor RAMS when issuing permits.
- Monitor equipment performance, aiming to reduce downtime and increase reliability.
- Support site production, contribute to CI initiatives, and maintain a clean, safe engineering area.
- Actively promote safety culture (SORs, Food Safety Observations, etc.).
The ideal candidate will have
- Time-served Engineering Apprenticeship (Mechanical or Electrical) - Level 3.
- Experience in a multiskilled maintenance role within food or FMCG manufacturing.
- Knowledge of CMMS and preventative/predictive maintenance practices.
- Strong fault-finding ability across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with hygienic equipment and food-safe maintenance procedures.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding of safety, food compliance, and engineering KPIs.
Desirable Skills
- HNC/HND in Engineering.
- 17th/18th Edition Electrical Certification.
- IOSH or NEBOSH safety qualifications.
- CHP/ETP experience.
