Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
Our client is seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer to support the safe and efficient operation of a high-speed manufacturing site. This role focuses on delivering both reactive and planned maintenance, ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime, and driving overall site performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and automation faults
- Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Identify root causes and implement long-term solutions
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
- Contribute to KPIs including OEE and efficiency targets
- Maintain high health and safety standards
- Provide technical support, training, and coaching
- Support wider site engineering activities
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering or a time-served apprenticeship
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with automation, control systems, and industrial machinery
- Background in FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing
- Experience working in a shift-based maintenance role
- Ability to work under pressure and support production demands
Desirable Skills:
- HNC in Electrical, Automation, or Multi-Skilled Engineering
- Experience with high-speed production lines and pneumatic systems
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
- Ability to train and mentor others
