We are looking for a practical, hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a small, supportive engineering team near Ipswich. If you enjoy varied mechanical work, don’t mind a dusty/industrial environment and like a mix of workshop and site-based tasks, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing:
- Mechanical maintenance and repairs across a range of plant and equipment
- Working on mixers, hoppers, cranes, trucks and general machinery
- Supporting agricultural systems (feeders, drinkers, heaters, site kit)
- Diagnosing faults and keeping equipment running safely and efficiently
- Travelling to local sites for breakdowns and installations
- Joining an every-other-weekend call-out rota (with additional payments)
What we’re looking for:
- Level 3 Mechanical qualification or strong equivalent experience
- Confident working on plant, vehicles, and general mechanical systems
- Comfortable in a dusty, dirty, heavy industrial/agricultural environment
- Background from industrial, forces, heavy plant, automotive or agriculture
- Basic electrical knowledge is useful but not essential
Pay & Benefits:
- £42,000 basic salary (weekly pay)
- Overtime available: Midweek over 8 hours & Saturdays: x1.5 After 48 hours: x1.33
- Every other weekend call-out: £100 standby + paid call-out hours
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
- Pension scheme (up to 15% combined contributions)
