The Role
Synergi Recruitment is recruiting for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Hertfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a busy production environment, working on a range of manufacturing and packaging equipment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, minimising downtime and ensuring production machinery operates efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
- Work on conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pneumatics and hydraulics.
- Carry out welding, fabrication and mechanical repairs where required.
- Maintain and repair packaging machinery, ovens, fryers and other production equipment.
- Support continuous improvement projects to improve equipment reliability.
- Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
Skills and Experience Required
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
- Experience with welding and fabrication, ideally MIG/TIG.
- Good understanding of electrical fault-finding, PLCs, sensors and variable speed drives.
- Experience working on automated production or packaging machinery.
- Ability to work independently within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
