Synergem Recruitment is working with a successful and fast-paced service-based organisation in Leeds to recruit an experienced Payroller to join their established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys working in a busy environment, takes pride in delivering an accurate and efficient payroll service, and enjoys building strong relationships across the business.
The Role
- Processing payroll accurately and ensuring employees are paid correctly and on time
- Managing new starters, contractual amendments and leavers
- Administering PAYE processes, issuing P45s and responding to payroll-related queries
- Completing payroll calculations, including manual calculations where required
- Processing statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP
- Supporting year-end payroll procedures
- Producing and distributing payslips within agreed timescales
- Preparing pension documentation and supporting pension submissions
- Reconciling pension control accounts
- Investigating and resolving payroll queries, providing a high level of service to employees and stakeholders
About You
- Previous payroll experience within a fast-paced or high-volume environment
- Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation and statutory payments
- Good Excel and general systems skills
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to liaise with colleagues at all levels
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A positive, proactive approach and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
