Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will take ownership of the month-end and management accounting process for a key business unit, while gaining broader exposure to budgeting, forecasting, controls, and commercial finance. This is a hands-on role offering plenty of scope to develop both technically and commercially within a structured group environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own the month-end close and preparation of management accounts
- Prepare accruals, prepayments, depreciation and month-end journals
- Complete balance sheet, intercompany and key ledger reconciliations
- Analyse revenue, cost of sales and financial performance
- Support annual budgets and quarterly forecasting
- Assist with cash flow forecasting
- Compliance, internal controls and audit requirements
- Assist with VAT, year-end reporting and external audit
- Provide clear financial commentary and work closely with non-finance stakeholders
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate finance processes
The successful candidate
You will ideally be newly qualified or approaching qualification (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with strong hands-on management accounting experience. You will also have:
- Strong month-end accounting experience
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate reporting
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage your own workload
- Commercial awareness and the ambition to develop beyond core accounting
- Previous exposure to multi-entity accounting, budgeting and forecasting, VAT, audit or reporting automation would be advantageous but is not essential.
