This is a broad and progressive position, offering a blend of financial reporting, cost analysis and business partnering responsibilities. You will play a key role in supporting business performance, improving cost visibility and providing meaningful financial insight.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and analysing costs and variances
- Supporting month-end close activities
- Working closely with operational teams to understand performance and identify improvements
- Maintaining and validating costing data within systems (SAP experience highly advantageous)
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Delivering variance analysis and performance insights
- Partnering with operational and commercial stakeholders to support profitability improvement and pricing and margin analysis
- Financial reporting, controls and continuous improvement across finance processes.
About You
This role will suit a part qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA or AAT Qualified), looking to build a career within commercial or operational finance (study support available). At least 2 years experience in a cost-focused finance role is required, along with exposure to costing and variance analysis. Strong Excel and analytical skills are essential, and experience with SAP (or similar ERP systems) is highly desirable. Ideally, some manufacturing experience is preferred.
A proactive mindset, with a genuine interest in developing commercially, is important. You should be a confident communicator, able to work with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
This role offers a clear development pathway within a forward-thinking finance function, with genuine progression opportunities. You will gain exposure to both operational and strategic decision-making, making this an ideal step for someone looking to develop into a Finance Business Partner / FP&A or wider commercial finance role.
